In a world full of faces, we all hope to find our perfect match. But sometimes, the one that’s destined to us doesn’t look as humanly as we would think. You maybe wonder what’s this all about and that’s why I’m gonna address this subject a little more. Usually, people are used to finding friends or partners with whom they share both happy and difficult moments. But when we don’t find that unique person or we feel like we don’t belong anywhere, we lose hope. What if we’d stop for a second and ask ourselves if the answer isn’t easier that we thought? Who says we need people to fill our life with joy?
I guess you got at least a small idea about what the subject of today is. Pets! Our beautiful furry friends, always there for us when we need solace, always loyal and ready to make any day better for us. Many of you might think about dogs and cats, but what if I offer you another option? How about ducks? As unusual may seem to have a duck as a companion, we can at least love them for their grace and finesse. And I’m pretty sure Florin Enache – the artist we are gonna talk about in the following – shares my feelings on this one! Curious why?
Who is Florin Enache?
Florin is a Romanian graphic designer, really passionate about music and photography. He finds his inspiration everywhere, especially in crime movies and in the animal world. His digital illustrations are pretty unique, with a retro note, portraying different scenes or simply portraits. But, as any hard-working artist, he began by creating detailed sketch drawings on a daily basis, on different subjects: human body parts, architecture, still-life and so much more. Step by step, he added colors starting from small elements as a focus point in the image to the whole drawing itself. And the results were absolutely amazing!
Time passed, people tried to adapt to a new era of technology and so did he. So, he focused his attention on the digital side of art. This is how his first illustrations came to life and let me tell you one thing – the transition was pretty smooth. Even if this part was offering more development opportunities, Florin never gave up on his “sketchy” habits. I think this is also the main reason why we still have the chance to see glimpses of his sketchbooks.
What about art and pets?
There are many things to say regarding his artworks. Unfortunately, I can’t contain all my excitement seeing so many beautiful pieces, but I’ll try to select some of them in order for you to make an idea about it.
“Om rău” tr. as ‘Bad Man’
by Florin Enache in collaboration with hip-hop artist Ex
Each one of us has a little devil inside, right? Hence the horns. In theory, people are being born knowing no evil. But, as we grow up, we tend to develop some negative traits, because all the situations we come to know leave us with wounds. And this is pretty much our emotional defense mechanism. In this illustration, the human skull behind the real face, highlights a common human comeback making the evil nature seem something ordinary.
Beside that, we humans are being considered bad even if we speak the truth freely and others get offended by it. But this doesn’t necessarily mean that it is in fact true. These are only two personal visions over this song’s cover, which can be equally accepted but I guess the one that matches the lyrics is actually the second one.

As sinister it may look, this NFT is pretty interesting from its composition point of view. The original version is an animated one, so you can see it by accessing the link attached to this photo. The artist’s inspiration came from the ‘Funny Games’ movie made back in 1997 as a digital illustration for that story. Being a serial killers related scenery, this pretty much explains the blood that drips over the TV. But there’s one more element suggesting the idea of a murder. Portraying a lifeless woman hand on the edge of a bed gives some idea of what happened in that room. Only these two components alone sum up the dark note that’s been dominating the artworks from the beginning. Seems pretty interesting to me how people choose to materialize their visions over something, by simple key elements that express enough information for us to get the main idea. Not a big fan of old movies myself, but seeing this digital art piece made me think I should really give it a chance!

In my defense, it was pretty hard to choose any other image of a pet than a cat’s. Everybody should know, until now, that I’m a huge fan of these cute little monsters who make our life better by simply being in it. Even choosing to portray this very sensitive moment from a cat’s day bring back a lot of memories and feelings.
The ferocious predators, the descendants of lions are now some spoiled balls of fur who sleep under blankets just in case they are cold. The irony is just amazing. Especially when they tend to do it with their tongue out, it is even funnier. As independent and sophisticated everybody says they are, many of us have that ‘dumb purry baby’ at home who would die without his special treats. But we all know that our lives would be empty without them though. Even Florin Enache made a list in one of his artworks, naming cats as one of ‘the little things that make you happy’.
Still curious about those ducks? Well, check this out! And even more than that, if you are a fan of true crime stories, Florin Enache has something special for you – “Unknown” book entirely made by the artist himself as ‘an illustrated series about mysterious events through mankind‘.
