The balance between life and art can be easily described by this series. All because what I am trying to do is to bring artists a little closer to you, all in one colorful place. And it is pretty nice to know that there are already a few people who follow my articles in search for new artworks to enjoy. Today my feminine side came to life once again, therefore I chose to share with you some special pieces. It’s gonna be all about learning human emotions through a series of female portraits, understanding their expressions and analyzing the details.
Thanks to Alexandra Costea who made it all possible, you will let yourself be carried away by dreams, creativity and passion, all mixed up together in perfect compositions. Through her art, she gives a whole new meaning to the ‘life is about the journey, not the destination’ expression. Why? Because if the so-called ‘destination’ is the feeling you got after seeing the ideas behind her art, I will pretty much choose it. Abstract details, realistic characters and emotions painted in colors – this is the mix you are going to learn about in the following. And if you are already as curious as I was at the beginning, let’s get to know Alexandra’s deepest feelings together!
Who is Alexandra Costea?
A painter with a wild personality, a young lady ready to conquer the world and a digital artist in the making. Did I just say enough? Being a visual artist is not only about talent and inspiration, but about one complex career that you really need to work pretty hard for, in order to win your viewers’ hearts. Through one single art piece you need to express the feelings that you are sharing, the experiences and the moments you hope for, enough to build the perfect emotional environment for them.
Believe me when I say this, Alexandra Costea mastered this skill. Her artworks make you wanna let go of yourself in order to be a part of her fantasy world. There is one special detail that I find the most interesting in her portfolio: focusing her attention exclusively on portraits, she paints emotions a little bit different from how you imagine them. Even if sometimes bright colors can betray a positive feeling, this is not the case here. Silence, solitude, struggle are all part of a much more complex vision and you can notice them all depicted in pastel tones. Would you let yourself be fooled by appearances? Because, if you have an eye for details you might find it pretty easy to understand the hidden concept. So, what are you waiting for?
The expressiveness of art
It can be pretty hard to hide your feelings when the world wants you to look happy, but deep inside you are falling apart. Colors can be a pretty good indicator of how the inner emotions really feel like, but are you ready to let them shine?

The concept of a martyr can be easily confused with the savior complex. Constantly trying to save others and to handle things all by ourselves could often lead to mental disorders. The sacrifice we choose to make for everybody around us can be pretty harmful sometimes, hence the chaos in our minds. We tend to absorb the energies that surround us, but there is also a downside to it because in time we change enough to not even recognize ourselves anymore.
The tangled lines in this NFT can suggest a series of messy thoughts caused by the negative energy that fills our soul. Leaving small parts of us in anything that we do can be very consuming indeed. But finding a balance between what we give and what we get back in return should really do the trick.

In this digital illustration, the main character is being depicted as the mother of all living beings. The woman is the source of energy, the reason why everything around her blossoms and the one that cares for the creatures of nature. With an unconditional love for every aspect in life, she lays the much needed foundation for each element, creating it from scratch.
Even the tiniest creatures are under her “spell”. There is a peaceful note that dominates the image, the harmony being highlighted by the snakes and the bird, both in the same place being mesmerized by the woman’s beauty and positive energy.

Each interaction we have in our lifetime leaves a mark. We are the result of everybody’s influence, who came into our lives in order to teach us a lesson, and our response to it.
Every individual is made of colorful parts, borrowed from others or built by us. Together, they are part of a whole that makes us who we are. As you can see in the illustration, they’re in perfect harmony with each other, expressing a sense of calmness and peace. ‘We are no women, no men, we are dust on their feet.’ So poetic and yet so true. At some point we started losing our identity, staining our personality and mentality with other’s beliefs. But let me ask you a question, will we ever be the same once again?
